What Did You Do Without Instagram, Pinterest, And Netflix On Friday Night?
Friday night presented a koan-like dilemma to thousands of Instagram users: If you have an awesome party, but can’t post falsely retro pictures of it to the internet, did it really happen? When severe thunderstorms knocked out Amazon severs in Virginia, millions of users of Amazon-hosted sites (like Instagram, Pinterest, Netflix, and Wattpad) were forced to face this existential problem.
The group of websites seemed liked it affected almost every demographic on the web: Instagram and Pinterest are prime sites for those wishing to share their crazy weekend plans, while Netflix and e-book site Wattpad are the perfect places for those who wanted a night in (maybe to avoid severe thunderstorms in Virginia!).
Of course, some of this online traffic just had to find an outlet on other social media sites. “My Instagram isn’t working” was trending on Twitter as of Saturday morning, and so were Wattpad related tweets.
Did the power outage change your plans on Friday night? What did you do?

I barbecued on the back deck, drank homemade sangria, and enjoyed sitting under the stars with my girlfriend. I enjoyed real life.

Personally i didn’t see what was such a big deal in that. We have no Netflix in Russia, i dunno what Pinterest is (no one here uses it too, anyway) and Instagram is maybe worth 10 minutes a day. I personally read a book the whole evening.
