There’s definitely more than meets the eye to rapper Prodigy from legendary New York rap duo Mobb Deep.

After talking about his label Infamous Records while promoting his new release H.N.I.C 3, Prodigy spoke at length to me on Invasion Radio (Hip Hop Nation, Sirius/XM) about his family’s strong legacy in social and entertainment circles: his great-great-grandfather founded Morehouse College, his great-grandfather was a Republican senator who opened up the first post office for African-Americans in Atlanta, his grandfather was a jazz musician in the Hall of Fame, his mother was part of 1960s group The Crystals, his father part of another group and his grandmother owned and operated a successful dance school in New York and more.

A prodigy from a family of prodigies, indeed.
