How Fresh Are These Nike LeBron 9 Low “LeBronald Palmers” Sneakers?
Even though the 2011-12 NBA season ended a few weeks ago, Nike Basketball is still capitalizing off the success of the Nike LeBron 9 by creating new special-edition sneakers for LeBron James. And, why not? They’re as fresh, if not fresher, than any of the other LeBron 9 sneakers that we saw during the NBA season. Nike clearly has a pretty good thing going with the LeBron 9 signature sneaker, so they may as well continue to put out new colorways until it’s time for the LeBron 10 to drop in the fall.
Last night, LeBron took to his Twitter account and showed off the newest LeBron 9 Low sneakers he received from Nike. He dubbed them the “LeBronald Palmer” after the legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. Palmer was known for mixing lemonade and iced tea to make his own unique “Arnold Palmer” drink and these sneakers mix together a bunch of different crazy colors and tropical patterns to create a successful sneaker that we’d love to see Nike release. Like the LeBron 9 “South Beach” sneaker, these look like a day at the beach with all of their teal and pink accents. Nike also put a picture of an “Arnold Palmer” on the insole. Nike did a great job turning the LeBron 9 into the ideal summer sneaker.
Unfortunately, as of right now, it doesn’t sound like Nike has any plans to release these on a wide scale and it appears that they were created solely for LeBron. When you win an NBA championship and take home the NBA Finals MVP, it’s just one of the many perks of the job. But, if Nike did get around to releasing this sneaker this summer, would you be first in line for it? We’d love to get our hands on a pair and rock them for the rest of the summer. Let us know if you’d like to get your hands on a pair, too.
