Sage Stallone, the 36-year-old son of actor Sylvester Stallone, was found dead by a housekeeper in his L.A. home on Friday afternoon. According to multiple reports, the eldest son of the famed actor (with ex-wife Sasha Czack) died as a result of an apparent drug overdose.

“Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son,” publicist Michelle Bega said in an official statement. “His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever.”

Like his father, Sage was an actor and a budding director. He made his acting debut  in Rocky V and later appeared in Daylight (also with his father),  The in 2010′s Promises Written in Water. He moved behind the camera and made his directorial debut with Vic, which was screened at the Palms Springs Film Festival.

“He was very respectful of all the actors in all the movies,” George Braunstein, Sage’s lawyer, said of the young filmaker. “You couldn’t mention a movie that he didn’t know everything about. He was a full of life filmmaker with his whole future ahead of him. He was just very up and enthusiastic and positive. He was very proud of his father and proud to be his father’s son.”
