How Ridiculous Is This New “Teach Me How To Dougie” Parody Called “Teach Me How To Brushy”?

We know exactly what you’re thinking right now: “WTF?!?!?” The title to this post makes zero sense—unless, of course, you’ve already seen the new video that the Oregon Dental Association just released in order to try and promote oral health to kids. We could sit here and explain it to you. But, um, yeah. Just go ahead and check it out for yourself:

All done? Okay, then. Thoughts? Well, we’ve got a few. First, WTF is this? We understand that the ODA isn’t the first company to release a parody video of Cali Swag District‘s “Teach Me How To Dougie.” After all, hundreds of people out there made parody videos when the song was still hot. And, hundreds of others tried to do the “Dougie” to mixed results while the song was still popular. But, why in the world did the ODA choose now of all times to try and “Teach Me How To Brushy”?

This video will, no doubt, go viral and have everyone from rap fans to schoolteachers asking, “Hey, did you see…?” for the next week or so. But, to us, this video is just strange/weird/bizarre (we’ll let you decide the most applicable word). And, because the “Teach Me How To Dougie” song is pretty played at this point, we’re not sure how many kids are actually going to be encouraged to brush their teeth—and, more importantly, brush them properly—as a result of seeing this video.

If you’ve got kids, what do you think about the video? Will you be sitting them down in front of the computer and showing them this video to try and encourage them to adopt better dental hygiene? Or, did the Oregon Dental Association just waste a whole lot of money by putting this video together without really connecting with kids? Let us know.
