Jordin Sparks Drops 50 Pounds & Poses In A Bikini For Shape Magazine

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks is turning heads (and breaking necks) on the latest cover of Shape magazine.

The 22-year-old singer has dropped 50 pounds just in time to promote her latest film, Sparkle, which hits theaters on August 13.”I just wanted to be healthy,” Jordin told the magazine. “It was just before my 21st birthday. I had walking pneumonia, couldn’t breathe, and felt totally fatigued. I remember thinking, ‘I’m in my prime. I should be happy and fit.’ That was the moment I decided that changes needed to be made.”

Like most young adults in the United States struggling to lose weight, Sparks realized a major lifestyle change was in order. “I knew I had a long road ahead of me,” she told Shape. “I was barely working out, and my diet was a mess. I had to address when, what, and how much I was eating.”

But, for the young starlet who started exercising with frequent hikes in the Hollywood Hills, Zumba videos, and more, her hard work definitely paid off. “The weight really started falling off, and I could see my muscles,” she admitted. “It was awesome. For me to even be talking about bikini confidence is crazy,” she reveals in the video below. “If you had asked me a couple of months ago, I probably would have been like, ‘What are you talking about?’ So, it’s actually huge for me to even feel OK with putting a bikini on.”

Watch the video below as Jordin opens up even more about her journey to sexy. Has Jordin inspired you to make a change in your lifestyle?
