William Balfour, the man that was found guilty of the 2008 slayings of Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson‘s mother, older brother, and nephew, has been sentenced to 3 consecutive life sentences in prison for the murders. According to TMZ:

“Balfour was in a Chicago courtroom for his sentencing, and proclaimed his innocence right up to the end. Jennifer Hudson was also present.

During the sentencing hearing, the judge looked Balfour in the eyes and said, ‘Your soul is as barren as dark space.’”

Reportedly, jealousy was the motive behind Balfour committing the murders. The 31-year-old became infuriated after thinking his ex-girlfriend (Jennifer’s older sister) had received gifts from her new guy.

Now that he’s been sentenced, we pray Jennifer and her family can finally get some kind of closure out of this tragic situation. We will continue to pray for them.
