Nike’s New Commercial For The 2012 Summer Olympics Is Pretty Awesome
If there’s one thing I love when it comes to commercials, it’s when companies are able to tap into that feeling that comes along with accomplishing something. Every now and then, Gatorade will release a commercial that makes me want to lace up my sneakers and go take a run. Or, Jeep will drop one that makes me want to go and take my ride off-road. And, quite often, Nike produces a spot that makes me want to go out and do…well, something. Anything, really. From the images that are portrayed in the commercial to the voiceover work to the music that plays, Nike spots are often pretty inspirational.
So, it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that Nike’s latest commercial for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London is pretty damn inspiring. Featuring the slogan “Find Your Greatness,” it features kids and adults from all over the world doing the things that they love to do the best, like running for long stretches of time, stiff-arming a defender on the football field, and even jumping off the highest diving board at the local pool. It’s pretty cool to see people out there pushing themselves to “find greatness” and, although there aren’t any sneakers prominently featured in the spot, it’s well done and gets Nike’s message across loud and clear.
You can watch the commercial below right now. It’ll also be hitting your TV screens this week. And, if you feel so inclined, you can check out Twitter and search for the #findyourgreatness hashtag to see how different athletes from all over the world are finding their greatness today. As we prepare to watch the opening ceremony for the Olympics tonight, this commercial is a good reminder of how many people out there are trying to accomplish their goals and realize their dreams. I dare you not to become one of them after watching this. Go ahead and give it a try.
