Alicia Keys Wants You To Star In Her Music Video For “A New Day”
Out with the old…in with “A New Day.”
After marrying Swizz Beatz and having her adorable baby boy Egypt, Alicia Keys is back in the studio working hard on the follow-up to her 2009 album, The Element of Freedom. At the end of June, the R&B diva dropped her newest single, “A New Day,” and now she’s taking things one step further.
The singer took to Twitter recently to announce the launch of an interactive Instagram campaign that may land you a starring role in her new video. ”I released the song ‘A New Day’ and I couldn’t wait to see what your replies were on Twitter and Facebook, so I’ve been on there all day,” she says in the video below while in what looks like her studio. “Your positivity, your zone, just the way you’re feelin’ me is so crazy and exciting! This is what I’ve been building towards. I had this really fly idea…I wanna know what ‘New Day’ means to you. I want you to Instagram what a new day feels like for you. Whatever it means to you, I want you to share.”
She then invited fans to share their photos on Instagram with the hashtag “#AKNewDay.” The best photos will be featured in the video for “A New Day.” It’s that simple.
“I love this song ‘A New Day,’ because it’s about new beginnings, fresh perspectives, it’s about removing anything from your life that’s holding you back. It’s about living your life to the fullest,” she said. “It’s about personal revolutions in our own lives and global revolutions in the world. It gives me chills! Now it’s your turn.”
