Jay-Z Gets A Phone Call From Beyonce In His New Duracell Powermat Commercial
Leave it to Jay-Z to let the world know that he is constantly bonded with his wifey Beyonce without ever uttering a word.
As a spokesperson and major investor in Duracell Powermat, LLC, not only is the hip-hop mogul outfitting his 40/40 Club with the technology. But, Jigga Man is also starring in the Powermat’s brand new commercial. When Jay-Z first inked the deal with the company, he announced, “I believe in the future of wireless energy and I believe that Duracell Powermat is the company to bring on the revolution. I’m partnering with Duracell Powermat because they’re providing the solutions for the future.”
So, it’s no surprise that the one-minute commercial features Jay-Z’s other greatest partnership: his marriage to Beyonce. In the TV spot directed by Anthony Mandler, a dapper young chap navigates through his day on the subway, at lunch, and, later in the evening, at the 40/40 Club—all the while keeping his phone fully charged. Things get sticky however when our star mistakenly picks up a ringing phone thinking it’s his. But, when the caller ID clearly reads “B,” Hova steps in.
