The uniforms that the U.S. athletes have been wearing during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London have obviously been very patriotic. From the basketball team to the gymnasts to the water polo players, every U.S. athlete has been outfitted in a uniform that has featured some sort of combination of the colors red, white, and blue. However, there are several athletes that have also taken things even further by rocking footwear or other accessories that pay homage to the American colors even more. None have gone as far as sprinter Tyson Gay is about to go, though.

On Sunday, Gay will compete in the 100-meter race. And, he’s planning on running in style by sticking his feet into a pair of these adidas adiZero Prime SP spikes. They’re completely red, white, and blue with an American flag worked into the mix. So, there’s no doubt about which country he’ll be running for when the starting gun goes off. You’ll definitely be able to pick him out of the crowd. And, the adiZero Prime SP spikes do more than just look good. In addition to their patriotic style, they also weigh just 3.5 pounds, making them the lightest sprint spike ever. To personalize them a bit, Gay also had adidas stitch the name of his daughter Trinity into the tongue as well. These are some truly unique spikes.

They’re not one-of-ones, though. In fact, once Gay runs the 100-meter race on Sunday, adidas is going to put these onto the market for all of the track runners out there. And, whether you’re trying to break records or just attempting to look good at your next track meet, these are definitely worth a look. What do you think? Are these the most patriotic performance sneakers you’ve ever seen, or what? Make sure you look out for Gay wearing them on the track.
