La Toya Jackson Lands Her Own Reality TV Show On Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network
Life for the Jackson family may be pretty drama-filled these days with the reported disappearance of Jackson matriarch Katherine and the possible custody battle for Michael Jackson’s children Paris, Prince and Blanket. But, it seems life couldn’t be sweeter for La Toya Jackson.
Last seen on Donald Trump’s wildly popular series, The Celebrity Apprentice, the 56-year-old singer and actress has inked a deal with Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network for a new reality show titled Life with La Toya. Scheduled to arrive in 2013, the series is expected to get “up close and personal” with La Toya Jackson. According to a statement made by the network, the program will follow La Toya as she “juggles the many demands of her famous family, her life-long friends, and her growing entertainment business empire.”
While an Oprah/La Toya collaboration may seen strange for some, the deal has long been in the works, according to OWN co-president Sheri Salata. “We are delighted to work with La Toya to bring this new show to OWN viewers,” said Salata.
La Toya echoed these sentiments. “I am so pleased to be working with television legend Oprah Winfrey and to be a part of the OWN family,” she said. “This will be one of the most exciting adventures of my life.”
