Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Makes Interesting Debut

The word “ratchet” gets thrown around nowadays to describe varying levels of craziness and the term is freely being used with Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, TLC’s new reality show.

Back in January, the world was introduced to Alana Thompson a.k.a. Honey Boo Boo Child and her mother June on child beauty pageant shot, Toddlers & Tiaras. Now Alana (who’s 6 years old), June and their family have scored their own show, highlighting their lives in rural Georgia (the family includes dad Sugar Bear, a chalk-miner; sisters Lauryn (“Pumpkin”), Jessica (“Chubbs”) and Anna (“Chickadee”).

“People are going to talk, good and bad, and it is what it is,” June says. “My family, we enjoy what we’ve done and I would do it again.

“My family is crazy. We’re not boring. People have opinions, but if people actually sit down and talk with me and my family or talk with Alana, you’ll see that Alana thoroughly enjoys doing what she does, and that we’re not ignorant people like everybody says.”

The show debuted last night with two episodes, featuring everything from Anna, 17, revealing she’s pregnant (making mama June a soon-to-be grandmother at 32 years old) and the family participating in the “Redneck Olympics.”

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo airs every Wednesday 10pm ET on TLC.
