Kim Kardashian glows on the cover of New York Magazine‘s Fall 2012 Fashion issue. But, the normally overexposed reality starlet is surprisingly underexposed for the publication’s photo spread styled by Emily Barns.

The 31-year-old curvaceous beauty is known for posting images of herself on Instagram and Twitter with nothing but a bikini on. But, for this particular issue of New York, Kim keeps it glam, looking very artsy while modeling looks from Valentino, Louis Vuitton, and Bill Blass. After the shoot, New York writer Benjamin Wallace sat down with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star and got her to open up about her relationship with rapper Kanye West, her future plans, and even eavesdropped on her phone calls (all in the name of good journalism, of course). Here’s what Kimmy had to say:

On the fashion connection she shares with beau Kanye West: “If I have a design meeting, or he has one, we come back and talk about how our meetings went. It’s cool, ’cause you can definitely get more in-depth with someone who actually knows what you’re talking about…When this whole life is done, and it’s just the two of us sitting somewhere when we’re 80, you want to have things to talk about that you have in common. I think that’s something maybe I didn’t value as highly as a quality I cared about in someone.”

On her future plans: “I don’t really have goals as far as, I want to be on a cover or something like that. I think my goals are more just expanding my line, and having my line be really successful. That’s the ultimate goal, I think, for me. I don’t say, ‘Oh, I want to be on this magazine or I want to do this.’ It’s all fun. And I love, definitely, turning into a different character. I think each shoot has a different personality.”

On ignoring the haters and turning off her Google Alerts: “I used to be so involved with what’s going on, what’s up with this person. I just really truly feel so much more calm now, and I just don’t care.”

Later, the good folks atNew York thought it would grand if they listened to a private KimYe convo and printed it for the world to read. All we can say is “Thank you!” Here’s Kim’s side of the phone call: “Hello?… Hey…Just leaving the zoo…I’m finished with my shoot and I’m just finishing up…I’m heading actually to your place right now…Where are you?…Okay…So maybe I’ll go in and change and then I’ll eat…What time is that at?…Seven?…Will you be done?…Okay, so, that’s an hour….So, I’ll just wait at the place…Will you come get me?…Okay, well, I don’t have a car…Do you want me to just take a cab?…Or, can your car come get me first?…Where is ‘up here’? Is it far?…Okay, well, um, maybe…” And then, Kim signs off: “Okay, bye…Love you, too…Bye.”
