Vanessa Bryant Says She Can’t Marry Professional Athletes Who Don’t Win Championships

I feel sorry for the next man who decides to wife up Vanessa Bryant. Unless he plays for the Miami Heat or a title contender like OKC, Bryant isn’t interested in dating another ballplayer. Ms. Bryant wants rings, and not just wedding rings: championship rings. In an upcoming interview with New York Magazine, the woman that recently filed for divorce from Kobe Bryant suggested that it don’t mean a thing if you don’t have that ring.

“I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships. “If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year.”

Well, Kobe, it looks like you may have won this battle considering that Dwight Howard and Steve Nash are joining you in Los Angeles.

Perhaps there’s some context we are missing that puts this quote into perspective. It seems shallow but maybe there’s more. Saying that she’s sacrificing time away from her family makes sense, but her man does have to make a living and she surely is being compensated well for her troubles. Not all men who don’t win championships in the NBA are going to cheat on you. But perhaps she’s looking into the future considering that she’s well paid courtesy of Bryant. At this point, all she wants is a man at home…unless he’s winning championships.

Whatever.
