Nicki Minaj and her multiple voices and personalities may be the latest addition to the American Idol judging panel. The Young Money femcee will step into one of the slots left open by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, who both announced their exit from the show last month. A source told US Weekly:

“I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it. A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”

Although an official announcement has yet to be made, another source added that Nicki is “100% confirmed to judge American Idol.”

Nicki’s Barbz will be excited to hear that their favorite rapper could potentially be joining one of television’s biggest shows, but one person that allegedly isn’t happy about it is Mariah Carey. Reportedly, the pop diva, who recently signed on as one of AI‘s judges, hung up the phone when she was told Nicki was a top candidate for one of the open slots on the judging panel. According to TMZ:

“Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge’s panel. Choosing Nicki would not only crush that expectation, it would add insult to injury because Nicki (29) is a lot younger than Mariah (42).”

If the show’s producers manage to get both ladies on the judging panel, the combination will make for great television. I haven’t tuned in to American Idol in years, but I might give it a second glance if these two divas are sitting at the table next season.
