The Nike Air Jordan 5 “White/Black-Fire Red” Is Making A Comeback
The Nike Air Jordan 5 “White/Black-Fire Red” holds a special place in my heart. Although I’ve only purchased a few pairs of Nike Air Jordans over the years, these were the very first ones that I ever had. I was about 8 or 9 years old when I bought them (well, when my mom bought them for me) and I actually still have them in a storage box. They’re in absolutely horrendous shape—in fact, the last time I held them in my hand, a ton of glue ended up all over my fingers along with pieces of the sneaker—but, hey, they’re the one pair of sneakers that I’ve held onto over the years. I have a lot of memories with those things and I’m going to keep them until they literally fall apart and disintegrate.
With that in mind, I’m glad to see that Nike is going to be re-releasing the Air Jordan 5 “White/Black-Fire Red” sneakers in January 2013. They were re-released once before, back in 2008, as part of a Countdown Pack, but they weren’t re-released in their original form. These are true to the original design and, while they’re pretty simple, they’re going to be a must-have sneaker for me. From the mesh paneling on the side of the sneaker to the fire red design on the outsole to the 3M tongue and the large fire red Jordan logo, I’m hooked. These are one of my personal favorites when it comes to Jordans.
As I said, they won’t be released to the public until early next year. But, you can get a closer look at them below to see exactly what they’ll look like. Will you be copping a pair with your leftover Christmas money? Or, do you think that the AJ 5s were one of the weaker Jordan sneakers? Speak your mind in the comments section below.
