President Obama Speaks On Nicki Minaj’s “Republican” Line
Deflecting growing attention about Nicki Minaj‘s recent political stance is probably not something President Obama‘s too concerned with, but he’s doing it nonetheless.
The President did a radio interview in Orlando, Florida this morning where the topic of conversation quickly turned to Minaj’s recent verse on “Mercy” from Lil Wayne‘s recently released new mixtape, Dedication 4 (for those that don’t know, Minaj rapped the somewhat surprising line, “I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy bitches is fucking up the economy”). While pundits quickly claimed this was indeed an “endorsement” for the opposition, Obama seems to see it for what it most likely is — a boastful lyric for attention.
“Yeah, I’m not sure that’s exactly what happened,” the President said lightheartedly. “She likes to play different characters.”
He went on, “I don’t think [Sasha and Malia] really listen to Nicki Minaj that much. But let’s face it, they are now hipper than me.” He quickly reminded everyone, however, he knows a thing or two when it comes to rap. “We’ve got a nice hip-hop collection on our iPod,” he said.

I just gained my first lil bit of respect for her! A lil realer than I thought! Yeah that is a TRUE ASS LINE! Yee!
