Michael Clarke Duncan Laid To Rest, Official Cause Of Death Revealed
Beloved actor Michael Clarke Duncan was laid to rest yesterday at Forest Lawn cemetery in Hollywood in front of a crowd that included his fiancée Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, Jay Leno, Kimberly Elise, Holly Robinson Peete, Loretta Devine, and Vivica A. Fox. Singers Angie Stone, Kelly Price, Kenny Lattimore and Abraham McDonald were also present, performing alongside a gospel choir during the private service. Michael was 54-years-old when he died last week after never recovering from a myocardial infarction that he suffered in July.
In related news, respiratory failure is listed as the immediate cause of the Academy Award nominated performer’s death. According to TMZ:
“One of the underlying causes of Michael’s death was anoxic encephalopathy (severe lack of oxygen to the brain). As we first reported, MCD’s organs were severely damaged during the minutes following his initial cardiac episode on July 13th, when the actor went without oxygen for five whole minutes.
Other underlying causes include ventricular fibrillation (irregular quivering heartbeat), and acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).
Organ nodules (sarcoidosis) were a contributing factor to MCD’s death.”
In a speech given during the service, Jay Leno said:
“Just to see such a pure heart and pure kindness, and to see it taken so early. There are no sadder words than what might have been.”
To his fans and the people that loved him, truer words were never spoken.
