Michael Vick Almost Wore These Nike Air Jordan 3 Cleats At The 2010 Pro Bowl
Back in 2010, Michael Vick shocked the NFL by making a memorable comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles and lighting up opposing defenses both with his arms and his legs. If you remember, MV was a fantasy stud that year after he seized control of the team from starting quarterback Kevin Kolb once he went down with an injury, and he returned to the form that we’d enjoyed during the beginning of his NFL career. He was actually so good that, in spite of the fact that he didn’t even start off the season as his team’s starter, he made the 2010 Pro Bowl.
Back then, thanks to the federal dogfighting charges that had forced him to serve a couple years in prison, Vick wasn’t endorsing any sneaker company. So, the Jordan Brand decided to step in and make him a special pair of Nike Air Jordan 3 Pro Bowl PE cleats. As you can see in the photos posted here, the Air Jordan 3 cleats used pearlized white leather on the upper part of the cleat, blue and red elephant print on the heel of the cleat as well as the toe box, and a patent leather heel tab. We’ve seen a lot of Air Jordan 3 sneakers over the years. But, we’ve never seen one like this.
Unfortunately, Vick didn’t end up playing in the 2010 Pro Bowl, so he never got the chance to wear these. He’s also rolling with Nike now, so there’s probably no chance of us seeing him play in Air Jordan 3 cleats anytime in the near future. But, it’s kind of cool to see the Air Jordan 3 in cleat form. And, maybe, just maybe, Nike will allow him to wear these one game? Eh, probably not. But, it’s worth a shot. We’d like nothing more than to see one of our favorite Air Jordans of all-time on the feet of one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in NFL history.
