Is This The New Apple iPad Mini?

Last week, Apple held a special media event to announce the new Apple iPhone 5. They released details about the new iPhone, gave us a sneak peek at what it will look like when it drops later this week, and told us about all the new things that we can expect our iPhones to do. What Apple didn’t do at that event, though, was announce the new Apple iPad Mini like so many people out there thought they might. In fact, Apple didn’t even speak of it, which led us to believe that the entire idea of there even being a Mini might have just been a rumor.

But, we don’t think that anymore. And, why don’t we think it’s just a rumor? Well, because the images that you see here leaked on a Chinese tech site called Bolopad recently—and they certainly look like they might be the real thing. They feature the Mini running iOS and they even show off the new Apple Lightning port on the bottom of the iPad Mini, which makes us believe that this thing does exist. Outside of that, there really aren’t any details available about the Mini (obviously!). But, photos like the ones here also leaked out for the iPhone 5 prior to it dropping and they turned out to be very close to the real thing. So, who knows? Maybe these are photos of the Mini.

If this is what Apple is planning on dropping sometime later this year, are you interested in copping it? Better yet, do you think there’s a real need for an iPad Mini in the first place? We think that people will flock to it, provided it has a low starting price point. But, we’re interested to hear what other people out there think about it. The Mini will be a big deal for the tech world. But, will you be standing in line waiting for this thing to come out if and when Apple finally gets around to releasing it?
