New Trailer For The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
It’s Tolkein Week, the 75th anniversary of the publishing of The Hobbit, and the birthday of both Bilbo and Frodo- so what better time to unveil a new trailer for Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey?
As SlashFilm points out, “this is the first major piece of marketing released since the announcement of The Hobbit’s conversion into a trilogy,” which might explain the difference in tone between this and the first trailer. Gone is Howard Shore‘s sweeping score, gone are the ominous glances between dwarves, and the sense of foreboding and war. Not only is this trailer much more Bilbo-centric, but it has much more humor and action. Even Golem talking about eating Bilbo becomes a joke.
The first film in the series is set to premiere on December 14.
What do you think of the new trailer?
