Samuel L. Jackson Tells Voters To “Wake The F**k Up”

Last year, Samuel L. Jackson produced an instant YouTube hit when he made an audio recording of the obscene children’s book parody, Go The F**k To Sleep. But in 2012, Jackson is concerned that supporters of Barack Obama have lost their drive from the last election- and he’s telling them to “Wake The F**k Up.”

In a new video from the same group that produced Sarah Silverman‘s recent obscene campaign ad, Jackson uses his  his signature snarl and yelling to exhort Democrats to get back in the game. In rhyming dialogue clearly meant to echo children’s book rhythms, Jackson and and a pint-sized Obama supporter go from room to room in a multi-generational household, making sure each family member knows what’s at stake. An older brother is reminded about student loan reforms; an older sister is warned about attacks on Planned Parenthood; and Grandma and Grandpa (who appear to have quite a few feisty years left in them) are alerted to looming Medicare cuts.

It’s a hilarious and well-produced video, but I have to wonder: is it preaching to the choir? Will celebrities and a little irreverence backfire?

What do you think of Samuel L. Jackson in “Wake The F**k Up?”
