At the beginning of Christian Aguilera‘s new video for “Your Body,” the sassy singer issues a clear warning: “No men were harmed in the making of this video.” But, with a number of hairstyles from micro-braids to a curly fired hairdo seemingly inspired by a box of Crayola crayons, we’re more concerned about Aguilera’s blonde mane.

Thankfully, it seems The Voice star’s lovely locks were closely taken care of by celebrity hair stylist Mark Townsend. “Christina is such an artist and she is very visual, so I love to collaborate with her and play with hair styles,” the stylist told Us Weekly. “She is really into color in her hair, and she has really been liking braids in her hair [lately], so we incorporated those trends into some of the styles. For the video, Christina showed me lots of references and photos she had been collecting, and we talked about looks. I love working with Christina, she has been such an inspiration to me for years and years!”

Directed by Melina Matsoukas, the single marks the first track off of Aguilera’s fifth studio album, Lotus, due out November 13th on RCA Records. “This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years,” Aguilera told Billboard. “Once I could start writing my own songs, beginning with Stripped, I tried to infuse as much as I could to promote strength and inspire people with that message. And now, I’m at a place at 31, where the last time I felt this way was when I was 21 with Stripped and I had a lot to say and a lot to express.”
