President Obama’s Air Force One Airplane Inspired These Nike Air Force 1 Hi “Presidential” Sneakers

Why has it taken Nike so long to do this? No, really. For years now, the President of the United States has been taking trips aboard the Presidential plane, which is called Air Force One. So, you’d think that, by now, Nike would have whipped up a special “Air Force One” version of their Air Force 1 sneaker. They’ve come up with hundreds of other colorways for their staple sneaker. So, why not one created specifically for Air Force One? Well, it took them long enough, but Nike has finally come up with an Air Force 1 that President Barack Obama would be proud to rock aboard his private plane.

The Nike Air Force 1 Hi “Presidential” sneaker is inspired by Air Force One and designed to look a little bit like the plane itself. It features an all-white patent leather upper, an American flag stitched onto the back of it with the number “27000″ underneath of it (Air Force One is a Boeing SAM 27000 model), a light blue sole with gold accents, and a navy and white strap across the top of it. It’s a simple, classy sneaker that invokes thoughts of Air Force One when you see it.

Right now, we’re not sure when this Air Force 1 Hi will be released to the public. We’re also not sure how much a pair of these will run you. But, one thing’s for sure: If we were Obama, we’d show up to the second presidential debate with Mitt Romney wearing a pair of these. They are fly—in more ways than one!—and they’re one of the coolest pairs of AF1s we’ve ever seen. If given the opportunity, we’ll definitely snatch up a pair of these and stick them on ice.

Are you glad that Nike finally went ahead and honored Air Force One by creating an Air Force 1 for it?
