The New York Jets Need To Stop Fronting And Sign Terrell Owens

Terrell Owens has been trying his hardest to get an NFL team to pay attention to him. His brief run with the Seahawks ended in the preseason after he simply wasn’t up to their standards. So, the future hall of famer has now been flirting with other teams to see if he can drum up any interest. He recently went on Twitter to let the depleted and downtrodden New York Jets know that he’s available to play for them if they needed his services. However, reports surfaced yesterday that the Jets have absolutely no interest in bringing in Owens.

Really? No interest? You took a chance on Tebow and you won’t even consider bringing in Owens or even Plaxico Burress to at least try to bring the 2-3 Jets (surprising that they’re in second place, isn’t it?) out of the laughing stock bin they seemed to be destined for this season. Mark Sanchez has nobody to throw to, Shonn Greene can’t run the damn ball if the passing game is suspect, and the defense is already vulnerable. That’s already a recipe for disaster.

What harm could bringing in Terrell Owens really do? You already brought in a distraction with Tebow, so you can’t act as if the Jets want a drama free season. Ultimately, they cannot stay pat if they are thinking about being anything but one of the worst teams in the league.

Play Tebow, sign Owens, do something.
