Russell Westbrook Gets His Own Jordan Brand x 9FIVE Glasses
During the 2012 NBA Playoffs, Russell Westbrook made a name for himself by rocking his extensive collection of designer glasses, including a pair of all-red frames that even had Sally Jesse Raphael talking. He inspired other players like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade to wear the glasses during their post-game press conferences. And, even though we’re pretty sure Westbrook doesn’t need to wear them, it looks like he’s going to continue to rock them before and after games as a fashion statement. The glasses have more or less turned into his signature look.
It looks like Jordan Brand—the sneaker company that signed Westbrook to an endorsement deal last week—is getting in on the action, too. Shortly after signing the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard, they announced that they were teaming up with eyewear company 9FIVE to create an exclusive pair of Jordan Brand x 9FIVE glasses for Westbrook. The glasses feature the Jumpman logo on them as well as an inscription that reads, “RW-LTD. EDITION.”
It’s a genius marketing strategy for both Jordan Brand and 9FIVE. But, unfortunately, it sounds like that’s all that it is right now—a marketing strategy. The glasses were created for Westbrook, and he’ll be the only person that can rock them. At least, for now.
But, if Jordan Brand and 9FIVE did go ahead and create a line of Russell Westbrook glasses, would you go out and buy them? Or, do you think basketball players need to stop rocking glasses if they don’t really need them? We’ll let you know if Jordan Brand announces anything else concerning the glasses. In the meantime, check out another image of them below and then let us know your opinion of them in the comments section below.

i like the brown sides
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM, AN I WANT THEM.
I’d definitely buy, especially the all black.
