No shots at Prodigy. But, at this point, doesn’t it seem like sneaker companies will give a shoe to just about anybody? The Mobb Deep rapper is the latest MC to get his own shoes through Supra, who will reportedly be releasing both a sneaker and a boot in honor of P sometime next month. At the current moment, there are no details available and we have no clue what the actual sneaker will look like (possibly something like the one you see above?). But, isn’t it a little strange that Lil Wayne has been talking about putting out his Supra sneakers for months now and won’t do it until 2013 but Prodigy is getting his own sneaker through Supra next month?

Additionally, is it really a good thing that Prodigy is getting his own sneaker? We understand that him linking up with Supra definitely helps both sides. He gets his own shoe and Supra gets all of the press that comes along with it. But—and, again, no shots ’cause we most definitely love P around these parts—why does Prodigy deserve his own sneaker? He’s never really been known as a big shoe guy. He doesn’t strike us as a dude who’s particularly enamored with Supra sneakers. And, conversely, Supra has made a name for itself in recent years by supplying skaters—and artists who are interested in the skate culture—with their own sneakers. So, where does Prodigy fit in?

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, check out this video that features P talking about his new sneaker and boot, albeit very briefly. Stay tuned for additional details as they become available. It’ll definitely be interesting to see what kind of shoes Prodigy has created with the help of Supra. What do you think his sneaker and boot will look like?
