Cee Lo Green Denies Sexual Battery Charges
Cee Lo Green is using his voice in a way he never thought he would: to deny accusations of sexual assault.
According to the LAPD, the “Forget You” singer has been under investigation after a woman filed a report accusing The Voice mentor of sexual abuse at a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. Green has officially denied the sexual assault allegations, telling TMZ that he has not been to the restaurant in question in three months.
“Nothing ever happened there or anywhere else,” he said.
A source close to Green adds, “I have never seen Cee Lo act in a physical way toward anybody.”
Born Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, this isn’t the first time the singer has been in trouble with the law. In 2001, Green faced misdemeanor charges after getting into an argument with then-wife Christina Johnson. According to reports, Green smashed the windows of their Jaguar during the incident. Green once admitted to Blender that he did have a more aggressive side that he often shields from the public.
“I was a kleptomaniac, pyromaniac, just a plain maniac,” he said. “I was enraged without an outlet. I was aggressive and…took pride in that. I was saved because of my association with music. Music truly did calm a savage beast.”
Green released his Christmas album, Cee Lo’s Magic Moment, this week and is rumored to be working on a memoir, which is set to hit shelves in 2013.
