The Boost Turbine 2000 Lets You Charge Your Cell Phone With Your Own Power

Did you lose power during Hurricane Sandy? Then, you no doubt experienced the one thing that cut you off from the rest of the world—the death of your cell phone battery. Up until last week, you’d probably experienced it a few other times, too, but last week was different because once your phone died, it likely stayed dead for a few hours or maybe even a few days until you could find an outlet that worked. So, after all of that, you’ll really appreciate what the Boost Turbine 2000 has to offer.

As you can see in the photo, the Boost Turbine 2000 is built to help you power up your smartphone whenever you don’t have access to power. If your battery dies, simply use the Boost Turbine 2000′s hand crank to add some juice to the backup battery. Then, plug your smartphone directly up to the battery and let it charge. And, if the backup runs out of power? Well, all you need to do is start cranking it again to refill it. It’s a very simple way to power up your phone. Whether you don’t have power at your house or you simply don’t have time to sit and wait for your phone while it’s plugged up to a wall outlet, the Boost Turbine is a great accessory.

In fact, the only downside to the Boost Turbine 2000 is that you’re in charge of powering it up. In order to get it juiced up, you have to sit and crank the thing for awhile (one minute of cranking with only yield about 30 seconds of talk time, so you can imagine how long you’ll have to crank to get it fully juiced). That’s no doubt going to be annoying when you’re, say, sitting on an airplane or even just sitting on your couch trying to relax. But, the convenience that it provides outweighs the inconvenience that comes along with it. So, if you’re always running out of battery power—or if you just want to prepare in case another Hurricane Sandy comes along—cop one of these today. It’ll cost you 60 bucks and it’s available through Eton. Now, go get to cranking.
