Nicki Minaj Says She Would Perform With Mariah Carey On American Idol
The taping of the new season of American Idol got off to a bumpy start thanks to two of the show’s newest judges, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. Last month during an AI audition in Charlotte, NC, the “Starships” rapper was caught on tape cursing Mariah out, reportedly telling the pop icon, “I’m gonna knock you out”. Rumors that Nicki threatened to shoot Mariah led to the “We Belong Together” singer beefing up her security detail, but Nicki later denied those rumors during a rant on Twitter.
In spite of the diva-like antics displayed by both ladies, Nicki recently told E! Online about the possibility of the two performing together on the AI stage, “I would do that. I think people would be interested in seeing that.”
I’m sure a Mariah Carey/Nicki Minaj performance would be ratings gold for FOX after all that’s happened, or it could end in disaster with a hair snatching, expletive filled brawl on the AI stage. But considering the popularity of shows like The Real Housewives of Atlanta and and most of the reality shows on VH1 where someone getting their wig snatched is a common occurrence, either way, FOX just can’t lose.
