LeBron James & Dwyane Wade Wore Special “Veterans Day” Sneakers Earlier This Week

For the last few days, there have been a lot of professional athletes paying homage to the military and all of the military veterans out there by rocking different pieces of clothing. For instance, NFL players wore special camo gloves on Sunday, while their coaches donned camo ribbons on the sidelines. NBA players wore red, white, and blue headbands and arm bands to show their support. And, a few athletes even took things a step further—both figuratively and literally—by having their sneaker companies design special “Veterans Day” sneakers for them to wear.

Two of those players were LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, who both wore sneakers that were done up in red, white, and blue to celebrate “Veterans Day.” Bron-Bron had Nike create a special pair of Nike LeBron X “Veterans Day” sneakers that featured a blue upper, a speckled red midsole, and a white outer sole. Meanwhile, D-Wade’s Li-Ning Way of Wade “Veterans Day” featured a blue and white upper, red accents on the liner and tongue, and red and white shoelaces with stars on them. Both players wore them during the Miami Heat‘s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night and posted photos of them on Instagram for the world to see.

Although their sneakers were designed specifically for Veterans Day, we wouldn’t mind it if either sneaker company decided to release these “Veterans Day” sneakers to the public. After all, Veterans Day only comes around once a year, but it’s always fashionable—and patriotic—to wear the red, white, and blue. But, unfortunately for us, it doesn’t sound like Nike or Li-Ning will be releasing these. Would you snatch up a pair if they did? Do you think either company—and, specifically Nike since they’re a U.S. company—should release these and donate a portion of the proceeds to veterans? Hit up the comment section and let us know.
