Reebok Has Officially Re-Introduced Emmitt Smith’s Classic ES22 Sneaker
A few months back, we heard that Reebok and Emmitt Smith were planning on re-releasing the former Dallas Cowboys running back’s classic Reebok ES22 sneaker. Much like they did recently with Allen Iverson, Reebok was supposedly going to be re-introducing the sneaker to a new generation of fans who didn’t grow up watching ES play as well as the old sneakerheads who remember when the ES22 signature sneaker first dropped. Now, the rumors have come true. Later this month, Smith and Reebok will be releasing the ES22 sneaker for the first time in over a decade. And, as you can see here, the ES22 is every bit as dope as it was back in 1996 when it first hit stores.
So, what can you expect to get when you finally get your hands on the ES22 sneaker again? Well, pretty much exactly what you got when you bought it back in the 1990s. The ES22 features the same Hexalite windows on the soles of the sneakers that were featured prominently on AI’s Reebok Questions. The sneaker also includes a very large outer sole, which was something that Smith valued in his sneaker when he used to wear it to cut all over the football field. These things were made to perform well while on the field.
If you’re interested in picking up a pair of the ES22 sneakers, they’ll be available on November 21 and will be priced at $140. If you want to find out more about the sneaker, check out the video below—which we spotted over at Complex—to learn more about what went into the re-development of the sneaker. This thing is a true Reebok classic. So, whether you’re a fan of Emmitt Smith and the Cowboys or not, you need to show some respect and put a pair of these onto your feet later this month.
