Here’s Why You Need To Be Watching The NFL RedZone Channel Today

I have a confession to make—and I’m definitely not proud to make it. I am a diehard New York Giants fan…and I haven’t watched them play in almost three weeks now. I know, I know. I should be so ashamed of myself! It’s just that, you know, I’ve been so busy on Sundays lately. Er, yeah, or something like that.

Okay, so I have another confession to make, and I hope that all my fellow diehard NFL fans will back me up here. I haven’t watched my New York Giants in almost three weeks because—*looks around sheepishly*—I’ve been too busy watching the NFL RedZone channel for the last three weeks. I know, I know! I’m a horrible, horrible fan, and I should be forced to give up every single Giants jersey, shirt, and hat that I own! But, hear me out.

The NFL RedZone channel is, in a word, AWESOME. If you’ve never watched it, I have a word of advice for you: Don’t. Or, at the very least, be prepared what you’re getting yourself into when you sit down and watch it for the first time.

Every Sunday, between 1PM/EST and about 7:30PM/EST, the NFL RedZone channel airs every single NFL game on the schedule simultaneously. And, while it’s obviously impossible for them to show everything from every single game on the slate, they do their best to show every top play live. Are the Kansas City Chiefs in the red zone? Then, they’re going to make an appearance. Did the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just run back a kickoff? It’ll be shown soon. Have the Baltimore Ravens been stopped short on fourth-and-1 at their own 49-yard line? Just wait—NFL RedZone will show you how they got stuffed. It’s incredible!

Also incredible: This piece that Rembert Browne just did for Grantland about the NFL RedZone. Like me, he just had his first RedZone experience back in Week 4, and he loved it so much that he took a trip to the RedZone headquarters to take a sneak peek at how the RedZone team is able to keep so many NFL fans glued to their TVs every Sunday afternoon. Trust me, if you think you’re glued to your TV now when football is on, you’re literally going to be addicted to Sunday afternoons once RedZone comes into your life. There are no commercials, no breaks, and, most importantly, no red zone opportunities that go overlooked. You won’t miss a thing while you’re watching it.

This week, my Giants are on a bye. So, I will be able to sit and enjoy RedZone without feeling guilty about it. But, next week, I’m once again going to be forced to make a really tough decision: Sit and watch every single second of the Giants game against the Green Bay Packers—or do what I really want to do and watch RedZone.

Oh wait. The Giants play on Sunday night next week (YES!!!). Guess you know where I’ll be now. Please, no interruptions.
