Will Basketball Wives Return For Another Season?
The cast of Basketball Wives is convinced they’re not being paid enough, so much so they’ve reportedly told VH1 they’ll walk out on the show unless their salaries are increased immediately.
Shaunie O’Neal (the series creator), Evelyn Lozada (the breakout star), Tami Roman and Suzie Ketcham have just begun filming the show’s fifth season but none of them are locked into contracts. TMZ reports the ladies are in the process of renegotiating but because they all want major pay increases (claiming the show does quite well for the network), they’re currently at a standstill. VH1 executives made it very clear before taping started that no changes in salary would happen and if any cast member had a problem with that, they would be replaced.
Despite the deadlock, TMZ reports production schedules were sent out and the girls began filming in hopes a deal would be worked out shortly. So far, a deal has not been reached and neither side is budging. The Wives” are reportedly planning to walk out next week if VH1 can’t agree to the terms.
