Water World! Would You Buy A Designer Evian Bottle?

Submitted by on November 26, 2012 – 5:27 pmNo Comment

As if bottled water wasn’t expensive enough, Evian is hoping you’ll drop a few more Benjamins for their H20 if it comes wrapped in a designer bottle.

So, does the water taste better? No, of course not. But, in a world where image is everything, Evian has tapped the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) President Diane von Furstenberg to create a limited-edition bottle for 2013 they hope will be more attractive to the consumer inspired by DVF’s saying: “Water is life is love is life is water is…”

“I am so excited about this collaboration because I have always loved Evian and I think drinking water is one of the most important things we can do to love ourselves and love is life,” Furstenberg said of the collaboration. “To me, it is all about living life to the fullest and I am proud to work with Evian to spread such an important message.”

Featuring Furstenberg’s signature red heart, the designer isn’t the first to put her high-end spin on the 750ml bottle. Paul Smith, Issey Miyake, Jean Paul Gaultier, Courreges, and Christian Lacroix have all designed bottles of their own since Evian began creating fashion forward limited-edition bottles in 2008.
