Jeremy Scott Slapped A Pair Of His “Wings” Onto A Smart Car

Over the course of the last few years, the “Wings” that Jeremy Scott has put on several different pairs of Adidas Originals sneakers have taken on a life of their own. Rappers, sneakerheads, and even Olympians like Ryan Lochte have taken to them, embraced them, and worn them religiously. So, it’s only right that Jeremy Scott branch out and try implementing the “Wings” into some other designs.

A car, though? That definitely wouldn’t have been our first guess! And yet, the noted designer decided to really push the boundaries recently by strapping a pair of his “Wings” onto a smart fortwo car. Dubbed the smart forjeremy, the car made its first appearance out in the world earlier this week at the L.A. Car Show, and it definitely turned a lot of heads when it did. The smart forjeremy features a white exterior, a white interior, a glossy finish, and, of course, two fiberglass “Wings” hanging off the back of it. A plate that says “smart forjeremy” also sits where the license plate would normally go.

We’re not really sure if the smart company has any plans to actually go ahead and produce more of these. But, adding “Wings” to the smart fortwo definitely breathes some new life into the brand. And, Jeremy Scott himself spoke to that in a press release that was issued shortly after the car was revealed.

“For me, wings mean freedom,” he said. “A sense of weightlessness. Because of this, I definitely wanted to have them for the smart electric drive in order to convey the way it frees the environment of noxious emissions and symbolizes the new lightness of mobility.”

Cool, man. The car is pretty crazy, too. Just check out some more images of it below. So, what else can you add your “Wings” to, Jeremy?! We’ll be waiting.
