VH1 Returns To The Big Apple With Love & Hip Hop
Love & Hip Hop is returning to New York with a few familiar faces and a mostly brand new cast to deliver the recipe of drama, heartache, success and failures the show’s fans have become addicted to.
Last season, Yandy Smith ended her eight-year management role with Jim Jones. Since then, Yandy and boyfriend Mendeecees Harris have welcomed a baby boy and are navigating the waters of commitment and family. Model Erica Mena exploded onto the scene last season and is now continuing to work on her career with manager and new boyfriend, Rich Dollaz. The two have recently begun mixing with business with pleasure, but Olivia Longott (back this season and working on her new album) is trying to come to peace with it (as Rich is her manager also).
The new cast includes Joe Budden, his current girlfriend Kaylin Garcia and former flame Tahiry Jose. Their love triangle kicks off the initial drama of the season, then former radio personality Raqi Thunda adds to it (Joe and Raqi insist they’re just longtime friends while Tahiry has her doubts, resulting in a rumored fist fight.
Another rapper, Consequence, is putting his five-year relationship with fellow cast member (and former gossip blogger) Jen “Jen The Pen” Bayer and their 1-year old son Caiden. The couple struggle with how to raise their child based on differing cultural and religious beliefs.
Rounding out the cast is Winter Ramos, former assistant to Fabolous and label manager at Slip N Slide Records who’s ready to make a controversial name for herself as she begins writing a tell-all book on her roster of famous ex-boyfriends and her life in the music industry. She’s currently the Creative Costume Designer for Flavor Unit Films. And then there’s Rashidah Ali, a shoe consultant to the stars who’s currently working on launching her own shoe line, Encore.
Love & Hip Hop: New York (Season 3) premieres Monday, January 7 at 8pm ET.
