Notorious B.I.G.’s Autopsy Report Released Over 15 Years Later
More than 15 years since the Notorious B.I.G. was gunned to death in Los Angeles, the details of his never-before-seen autopsy report has been revealed.
Rap phenomenon Christopher Wallace‘s autopsy results were obtained by TMZ this morning and reveal the then-24 year old sustained gunshot wounds to his chest, shoulder, leg, forearm and scrotum on the night he was murdered in Los Angeles back in March 1997.
Llisted at 6’1″ and 395 lbs (listed as “morbidly obese” by the coroner during the autopsy) Biggie was struck a total of four times in a drive-by shooting on Wilshire Blvd as he sat in the passenger seat of a Chevy Suburban. According to the report, three of the shots were NOT fatal.
- Gunshot One struck Wallace in the left forearm and traveled down to his wrist.
- Gunshot Two struck Wallace in the back, missed all vital organs, and exited through his left shoulder.
- Gunshot Three struck Wallace on his outer left thigh and exited through his inner left thigh.
The fatal bullet was the fourth gunshot, which entered Wallace’s body through his right hip and ripped its way through several vital organs before coming to rest in his left shoulder area. It perforated Wallace’s colon, liver, heart and the upper lobe of his left lung.
A toxicology test revealed Wallace had no traces of drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of his death. Immediately after the shooting, he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital where doctors performed an emergency thoracotomy but he was pronounced dead at 1:15 AM, his body identified by his mother Voletta and wife Faith Evans. Under scribbled notes in the pages of the autopsy report, a doctor had written “Decedent may be rap singer.”
