How Ridiculous Is Dwight Howard’s New “Ghost Hunter” Commercial For Adidas?

Dwight Howard is a guy who likes to have fun. You may have forgotten that over the course of the last year or so when Howard alienated himself from the Orlando Magic and forced them to trade him to the Los Angeles Lakers. But, off the court, Howard is a guy who likes to joke around a lot and have a good time with fans, his teammates, and the media. So, it should come as no surprise to hear that Howard’s new commercial for Adidas is completely ridiculous.

In the commercial, the voiceover guy asks if Howard leaves the basketball court everyday and turns into Dwight Howard, the ghost hunter. The commercial then shows a night vision view of Howard out looking for ghosts and running away screaming like a little girl. It is…well, as the title to this post suggests, completely ridiculous. The camera then pans to a shot of Howard kicking it with a couple of his homeboys in some fresh Adidas gear. It’s effective but, again, ridiculous.

Does this make you want to run out and scoop up a pair of Howard’s new Adidas sneakers? Or, better yet, does it make you dislike Howard a little less than you do right now? Although people in L.A. love Howard and all that he brings to the Lakers, his image took a big hit after last season. So, it’s important for him to make more commercials like this to get people back on his side. Check it out for yourself and then let us know if you’re a fan of Howard or if you stopped liking him once he demanded to be traded from the Magic. Either way, we’d expect to see a lot more commercials like this moving forward. Howard wants you to like him again…and it looks like he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
