Would You Rather Watch Mayweather-Pacquiao Or Marquez-Pacquiao 5?

After being viciously knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez, the immediate reaction is that the prospective mega fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will never happen. However, that fight very well may still happen. It just won’t be the massive fight that everyone hoped for. Due to Pacquiao being obliterated by a Marquez right hand, the overall thought is that Mayweather should dominate Pacquiao considering what “Money” did to Marquez three years ago when he dominated him for a unanimous decision victory. That thought process does make sense to the common man, but we all know that styles make fights and what’s good for the goose isn’t always good for the gander.

Nevertheless, if Mayweather were to fight Pacquiao in 2013, it would still be an intriguing fight. It just wouldn’t be the richest fight in boxing history. However, a Pacquiao-Marquez 5 fight just might be more intriguing and a bigger cash cow. After four fights where Pacquiao has won two decisions and one where Marquez scored a knockout and a majority draw, the fact remains that the series is still in Pacquiao’s favor 2-1-1. Yes, the knockout was far more of an exclamation point than squeaking by with decisions. But I’m quite sure that Marquez wouldn’t mind proving that he’s better one more time, while Pacquiao will be incensed to get revenge.

Considering the heavy Latino contingency and the amount of fans from the Philippines, there is a built-in base ready for another encounter. The story line is thick with many layers to intrigue fight fans of both the die hard and casual variety. Not to mention that there is a lot on the line for both fighters. Another Pacquiao loss would mean certain retirement and the same could probably be said for Marquez.

Both fights are intriguing, but which would you rather see?
