Do You Like What Adidas Is Planning On Doing With Tracy McGrady’s TMAC 1 In 2013?

Something tells us Tracy McGrady‘s retro sneaker game is going to be pretty thorough within the next year or so. Earlier this year, Adidas re-released his classic Adidas TMAC 1 to a whole lot of fanfare from sneakerheads and basketball players alike. Although T-Mac’s playing days are almost over, he’s still got a bit of a cult following, which is why he was able to secure a deal in China to play in the Chinese Basketball Association this season. So, people want to wear this guy’s sneakers, even if he’s no longer the player he once was. And, now comes the news that 2013 is going to be a pretty big year for Adidas and McGrady as well.

Earlier this week, several photos of new TMAC 1 colorways leaked on the ‘net and they showcase the TMAC 1 like you’ve never seen it before. There’s a Black/Red/Gold colorway, an Orlando Magic Royal/Grey colorway, and a Metallic Gold/Blue Splatter colorway of the TMAC 1 that we’ve never seen before. Adidas is really going all out with these and pushing the envelope with the TMAC 1. But, the question now is: Do you like the direction they’re taking the TMAC 1?

Don’t get us wrong, we’re glad that Adidas has bothered to re-release the TMAC 1 at all. No shots, but T-Mac’s sneakers were never as popular as, say, Allen Iverson’s sneakers. So, we were sort of surprised when Adidas decided to put out the TMAC 1s again in the first place. But, at the same time, some of these colorways seem a little bit crazy for a sneaker that dropped a decade ago. We almost wish Adidas would scale it back a bit and re-release the TMAC 1 in more realistic colorways as opposed to taking colorways that are popular nowadays and slapping them onto the TMAC 1.

What are your thoughts on it? Either way, you can expect a lot of these colorways to hit stores in 2013. So, keep an eye out for them.
