Tyler, The Creator Linked Up With Vans To Create A Fresh Take On A Vans Classic
It’s no secret that Tyler, The Creator, the outspoken frontman of Odd Future, is a big, BIG fan of Vans. While most rappers seem to prefer Air Jordans and Nike Foamposites to skate shoes, Tyler is rocking a new pair of Vans (or, better yet, an old pair of Vans) almost every single time that we see him. Vans are his sneaker style—and it appears that he’s sticking to it. That hasn’t gone unnoticed by Vans, either, as the company recently decided to partner with Tyler to come up with a fresh take on one of their classic Vans sneakers.
According to Modern Notoriety, Tyler and Vans will be releasing a a new Vans Syndicate sneaker sometime in 2013 that boasts several new designs that were thought up by Tyler himself. As you can see in the photo above, Tyler didn’t go too crazy with the classic kicks. But, he did make some subtle changes to the sneaker, which will be available in four different colorways with a gum sole making an appearance on each. We’re sure Tyler didn’t really intend to do this, but we could see these going nicely with a pair of jeans while you’re out skating or with a pair of jeans while you’re kicking it with your homeboys (or a lady friend!). They’re clean and would look right in either situation.
Unfortunately, we’re not really sure when these are going to hit stores yet. Additionally, we’re going to have to hang tight to see where these will be available when they finally do hit stores. But, we’re sure that Vans and/or Tyler will be making an announcement early next year as to when and where we can expect these to appear. So, hang tight and keep an eye out for these. Although, we do have to say that when they do drop, you’ll know. You’ll see Tyler wearing them everywhere.
