Yesterday, we showed you a few of the different “Christmas” sneakers that guys like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant wore during their respective games on Christmas Day. All three of their sneakers are available in stores today for a limited time, and they’re likely to sell out quickly. But, one “Christmas” sneaker that we didn’t tell you about yesterday—mostly because it was kept under wraps before being unveiled at the last minute—was the Air Jordan XX8 “Christmas” that Russell Westbrook took the court in against the Miami Heat yesterday afternoon.

As you can see here, the “Christmas” sneaks that Westbrook wore on Christmas weren’t red and green. They were designed by Mark Smith and they were meant to match the blue uniforms that the Oklahoma City Thunder wore during their game. They had all the same specs and features as the regular XX8. But, rather than using the bright green color that the original XX8 has, Smith used an articulated blue print on these special “Christmas” sneakers that made them look pretty, er, make that very distinctive on the court while Westbrook was playing.

We’re not sure when or even if this particular colorway of the XX8 will be available. But, we do know that, at some point, the Jordan Brand is going to bust out a whole bunch of new XX8 colorways. And, you know what? If they keep making special editions like this, we might just be able to be convinced that the XX8 is a hot sneaker. Well, maybe. We’re still not completely sold on the sheath. But, the XX8 “Christmas” proves that it does give Jordan Brand the option to offer this sneaker in a variety of different colorways once the XX8 is officially released in February.

What do you think about what Jordan Brand did to the XX8 for Christmas?
