Vogue Brazil Names Joan Smalls The #1 Model In The World On “Black Issue” Cover
Viva la Joan Smalls!
In honor of being named the number-one model in the world by Vogue Brazil, the 24-year-old model graces the cover of the January 2013 issue. Shot by photographer Henrique Gendre, the Puerto Rican model wears all black for the front of the magazine’s “Black Issue.”
Smalls has made quite the name for herself in the past year—becoming the host of MTV’s recently-resurrected television show House of Style, being named the face of Versace, nabbing a coveted spot in the Victoria Secret’s fashion show, and becoming the first Black model in four years to cover Vogue Italia. Smalls recently appeared on MTV’s “Big & Best Of 2012: A Year End Celebration brought to you by T-Mobile” to reveal her most memorable moments of 2012.
