Twilight, Tyler Perry Lead Razzie Nominations For Year’s Worst Movies
The Oscar nominees were announced this morning, which means it’s time for another list of nominations: The Razzies! Since 1981, the Golden Rasberry Awards have honored the very worst Hollywood has to offer, and this year, they had a lot to choose from.
The Razzies continued to recognize Adam Sandler for his work this year: though he didn’t match last year’s record-setting 11 nominations, Sandler is in contention for Worst Actor, Worst Picture, Worst Screen Couple, and Worst Ensemble for That’s My Boy!. (The film is also nominated for Worse Screenplay, Worst Director, and two nods for Worst Supporting Actor.)
But Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2 far and away steals the show this year with ten nominations, covering every category.
Tyler Perry also pulled of an impressive feat, being nominated for both Worst Actress and Worst Actor. Madea get’s the nomination for Madea’s Witless Protection, while Perry himself is recognized for his work in both Alex Cross and Good Deeds.
But even the Razzies can have their surprises. John Carter, a bomb so big it cost a studio executive his job, didn’t make a single appearance on the list. Is it worse to be derided, or ignored?
What do you think should have been nominated for a Razzie this year?
