Michael Crabtree Wore A Pair Of Cleats Inspired By The Air Jordan XX8 Sneakers Over The Weekend
We still have about a month or so to go until the official unveiling of the Air Jordan XX8 sneakers. But, already, they’re making an impact in the sports world. Last month, we saw Russell Westbrook wear a pair during an Oklahoma City Thunder game. But, the XX8 isn’t limited to just the hardwood. On Saturday night, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree had a pretty huge game against the Green Bay Packers to help the Niners earn a berth to the NFC Championship Game. And, during the game, he wore a pair of cleats that were inspired by the Air Jordan XX8.
As you can see, the Air Jordan XX8 cleats—which, by the way, will not be made available for sale anytime soon—look like a pair of AJ XX8s with spikes in the bottom. They feature the same sock-like sheath as the XX8 basketball sneakers, a Velcro strap across the top, and a lacing system that stays tucked away when the sheath is all zipped up. Unlike the XX8, which has a Volt colorway, Crabtree’s cleats feature the 49ers red on both the upper part of the cleat and the cleats themselves. But, when the sheath is unzipped and opened up, you can see that there is still some Volt tucked underneath of it (see the images below). It looks like a pretty solid cleat.
As we said, you won’t be able to buy these cleats anywhere right now. But, with the 49ers making it to the next round of the playoffs, you will probably be able to see him rocking another Air Jordan XX8-inspired cleat during next week’s NFC Championship Game against the Atlanta Falcons. Do you like the cleats that Crabtree wore against the Packers, or do you dislike the Air Jordan XX8 design even more now that you’ve seen this version of it? Let us know in the comments section below.
