Take A Look At Derrick Rose’s Brand-New Adidas Rose 3.5 Sneaker

Please allow me to be honest here for a second: I have absolutely no idea why Adidas is releasing the Adidas Rose 3.5 sneaker. A few months ago, a lot of people out there wondered why Adidas released the Adidas Rose 3. After all, Derrick Rose has been sidelined for the entire 2012-13 NBA season so far while he rehabs from a torn ACL suffered during last year’s NBA Playoffs. But, I understood Adidas releasing that sneaker. Just because their franchise player went down with an injury doesn’t mean that they should have scrapped his signature sneaker. But, it does seem a little bit strange to me that they’re releasing a second version of the Rose 3 later this month. It’s not like we’ve gotten our fill of D-Rose rocking the Rose 3 yet. So, why release a newer version of it?

But, regardless of how I feel about it, Adidas is still going ahead and releasing the Rose 3.5, so I might as well embrace it. Like the Rose 3, the Rose 3.5 sports D-Rose’s new logo. It also features Adidas’ patented SPRINTWEB technology as well as bolder design choices on the upper part of the sneaker. Inside of the sneaker, there are a number of elements that pay homage to Rose’s tattoos as well as his love for the city of Chicago. And, overall, these look and feel a little bit more like a sneaker that was designed specifically for Rose to wear. Ironically, that might be the very thing that stops some people from buying these—they aren’t quite as straightforward and simple as the original Rose 3—but we’re sure Rose will wear these proudly when he finally steps back onto the basketball court.

If you’ve already worn through your Rose 3 sneakers and you want to pick up a pair of these, they’ll be available on January 31 at stores across the country. They’ll run you $160 and they’ll be available in both grey and black colorways. Do you think you’ll pick up a pair of Rose 3.5s or are you still happy rocking the Rose 3 for the remainder of the season? hit the comments section and let us know.
