Detailed Images Of The Air Jordan III Retro ’88 Are Finally Available
Next month, Michael Jordan will turn 50 on February 17. This year, the Nike Air Jordan III also turns 25. So, in order to celebrate those two milestones, the Jordan Brand will be doing something extra special in February—they’ll be releasing the Air Jordan III Retro ’88 to the public. And, as we’ve told you in the past, they’ll be including the original “Nike Air” branding on the heel of the sneaker to pay homage to the original Air Jordan III. But, up until now, we hadn’t really gotten an up-close-and-personal look at the Air Jordan III Retro ’88. That all changed late this week, though, when the detailed images that you see here emerged on the Internet.
Although the Jordan Brand hasn’t put their official images of the sneaker out yet, these shots of the Air Jordan III Retro ’88 are just about as good as official images of the sneaker will be. As you can see, the original Nike Air branding is featured prominently on both the heel of the sneaker and the sockliner. The elephant print is present, too, and the white/black/red colorway that you’ve come to know and love is there as well. These sneakers look every bit as great as they did back in ’88 when MJ wore them during the 1988 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
If you want to pick up a pair of Air Jordan III Retro ’88 sneakers, good luck! It’s going to be really tough to get your hands on a pair. But, if you want to give it a shot anyway, they’ll be available next month through Jordan Brand accounts for the low, low price of $200 (yep, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but, as we suspected, these will cost $40 more than most other Air Jordan retro sneakers!). So, who wants them? Take a closer look at the sneakers below.
