Widows Upgrade Price To Jump Feb. 1
Are you thinking about upgrading to Windows 8 or Windows Pro? Better act fast. On February 1st, prices will jump up to 500%.
Since their debut, Windows has offered the new OS’s at (admittedly) very generous introductory prices: just $39.99 to upgrade to Pro for current users of Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7. But after January 31, that cost will shoot up to $120 for Windows 8, and $200 for Windows 8 Pro.
But should you upgrade? Last month, Consumer Reports made that case that Windows 7 might be the better bet, especially if you don’t have a tablet or Windows phone; Windows 8 is specifically targeted towards touchscreens. But Windows Vista received its fair share of criticism, so if you haven’t booted it yet, now might be the time.
What do you think?
